Image Lab: browser tools for everyday image work

Compressing an image, converting its format and removing metadata are separate jobs. Image Lab brings those common operations into a browser interface.

Choose an offered format accepted by the destination. Check colours, transparency and file size rather than assuming a fixed saving from the format name.

Adjust quality and dimensions separately. Compare text edges and photo detail, and keep the original instead of repeatedly processing a lossy copy.

Set position, opacity and size on a sample. Check both portrait and landscape images before a batch.

Speed depends on file count, dimensions, device and browser conditions. Testing one image before a batch makes problems easier to spot.

Sensitive information may also be visible in the picture. Removing metadata does not remove a house number or registration plate from the image itself.

Choose the required operation, then open the export in the intended application. Confirm format, dimensions and appearance. Keep the original until you have checked the result.
