I am Daniel Lu, the developer of this site. I want to explain why I introduced advertising and what that decision means for the people using these pages.
Some observant friends may have noticed that a few ads have recently appeared in the corners of the website. I sincerely apologize to you all for this compromise, which might affect your reading and user experience.
Server, bandwidth and model-access costs made me look for a way to support the site. I want the tools to remain usable; specific comments about where an advert interrupts that use are more useful than a general promise about every future placement.
Here, I want to make a promise to you:
- Absolute Restraint: Ads will only be placed at the edges of the page or at the bottom of articles. There will absolutely never be any pop-ups blocking the main text, nor will they ever interfere with the interaction and usage of any core tools.
- Staying True to the Original Intention: All core features, online tools, and high-quality content on the website will remain free and open.
Thank you all for your continuous tolerance and support. It is your every visit and piece of feedback that gives these lines of code warmth and meaning. If the ads genuinely bother you, I completely understand if you choose to turn on an AdBlocker.
In the days to come, I will continue to work hard to create more useful tools and content.
Best wishes!
