How to Use

How does it work?

  1. Allow Microphone Access: When prompted, tap "Allow" to grant microphone permission.
  2. Start Measuring: Tap the "Start" button to begin real-time decibel measurement.
  3. Watch the Meter: The gauge shows current noise level in dB (decibels).
  4. Privacy First: All audio is processed locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded to any server.

Understanding Decibel Levels

  • 0-30 dB: Very quiet (whisper, rustling leaves)
  • 30-60 dB: Moderate (normal conversation)
  • 60-80 dB: Loud (busy street, vacuum cleaner)
  • 80-100 dB: Very loud (concert, power tools)
  • 100+ dB: Dangerously loud (jet engine)

Tips

  • Keep your phone at arm's length for accurate readings.
  • Avoid touching the microphone area.
  • Results may vary based on device hardware.
