About Monitor Grayscale & Black Level Test

Two Testing Modes Available

Evaluate your monitor's grayscale performance with our "Standard Mode" and "Challenge Mode".

1. Standard Chart

  • Banding: A high-quality monitor should render smooth, silk-like transitions. Distinct vertical lines indicate low color depth or poor Gamma calibration.
  • Contrast: You should distinguish between white (255) vs near-white (254), and black (0) vs near-black (1). Merging indicates "Black Crush" or overexposure.

2. Black Level Challenge

A gamified test for OLED and Mini-LED to test extreme shadow details.

  • Spatial Dithering: In "Hell" levels, we simulate brightness below RGB(1,1,1) using algorithms. This showcases the true power of self-emissive pixels.

Best Environment

Perform the challenge in a pitch-black room to avoid ambient reflections.
